Municipal Integrated Water Management Plan
The Municipal Integrated Water Management Plan sets the strategic direction on water management across the municipality.
The City of Melbourne practices Integrated Water Management, defined as the coordinated management of all components of the water cycle including water consumption, rainwater, stormwater, wastewater and groundwater, to secure a range of benefits for the wider catchment.
We have been at the forefront of Integrated Water Management for many years, under the direction of our Total Watermark strategy. With the implementation plan coming to an end, we need to consider how the many changes since 2014 will influence our work in Integrated Water Management into the future.
The Plan sets the strategic direction on water management across the municipality, using a place-based and catchment approach and will guide our effort, thinking and investment for the next four years.
